Visit from Family
This past week, my mother and aunt flew here from Louisiana to spend some time with Debra and I as well as to experience some of the fun things to do in the area. They visited with our relatives in PA for a couple days and then, based on our recommendations, spent a couple nights at a great little bed & breakfast in central Virginia. While they were there, they took the “wine scavenger hunt” package which let them tour the wineries and taste some of the fantastic wine the state has to offer.
Thursday night, we took them to see the Transiberian Orchestra during the winter 2010 tour. It was the first time either had been to one of the TSO shows and they were blown away. The combination of the music, lasers, pyrotechnics, and snow (yes, indoor snow) left smiles on their faces for the next couple days. Check out the mobile album in my gallery for pictures from the concert and go here and here for a couple of quick videos I took with my phone.
Last night, their last night here, we all went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part I. We enjoyed it but the mood was a little somber since their vacation was almost over.
