It’s been a little while since I last posted to my blog and much has happened since then.

Debra and I are heading to Myrtle Beach in a week for a conference at which I’ll be demonstrating one of the tools my company developed for the US Dept of Fish and Wildlife Services. I’ll be working most of the week and Debra will be lounging at the beach soaking up the sunshine.

In a couple days, I’ll be going to the DC premiere of Kevin Smith’s latest film “Red State” at the Warner Theater. The film promises to be controversial and Kevin will be there to answer questions afterwards.

Lastly, but most importantly, Debra and I recently took a post-Valentine’s vacation to the fantastic Mark Addy B&B near Charlottesville. While there, I leveraged the help of the staff to surprise Debra by proposing to her. The ring came out as her “dessert”, and in front of the other patrons in the B&B’s dining room, I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. Thankfully, she said “Yes” in the middle of also exclaiming “Oh, shit!” and other sounds of complete surprise and partial embarrassment (from being proposed to in front of the other diners). We are currently looking at venues and dates for the ceremony. A web site will go up soon containing more details.
