While Saturday was spent indoors, Sunday we went to Sunset Hills Vineyards in Purcellville.  It was our first time there and we were impressed by the quality of the wines, helpfulness of the staff, and decor of the tasting room.  When we inquired about rates for using the winery as a wedding venue, they comp’ed our wine tasting fee.  As an aside, I wonder how much fees are necessary to cover the cost of tastings.  Personally, if I am paying to taste the wine, I feel that I should get to keep the glass (which is probably why I have way more wine glasses than wine glass storage).  

Once we finished the tasting, we sat outside and listened to live music while having a bit of food and wine. By the time we were done, it was closing time at the <i>other</i> winery we intended to visit that day, so we headed home early.  One of these days, we’ll finally make it out to Notaviva Vineyards!
